Villa Luisa Coffee evolves to Ecoluisa Coffee 2023
“Villa Luisa Coffee” changes its name to “Ecoluisa Coffee 2023.” This evolution occurs because our specialty coffee, produced at 1,850 meters altitude in Belén de Umbría, Risaralda, is made with environmentally friendly practices, avoiding pesticides. We focus on biological agents and bio-preparations to enrich the soil and vegetation. Ecoluisa Coffee 2023: “The coffee for housing,” a high-quality coffee.

Our history and essence are captured in this video, showing the journey of the Villa Luisa Housing Foundation with determined farming families. To date, 110 families already enjoy their own homes (Altos de Villa Luisa and Villa Luisa) in Belén de Umbría. Currently, the Foundation supports 200 families in developing the “Portales de Villa Luisa” project in the El Bosque sector, which will provide homes for these families, supported by our specialty brand “Ecoluisa Coffee 2023.”

The Villa Luisa Housing Foundation and its specialty coffee brand “Ecoluisa Coffee” receive this equipment from the Government of Risaralda to continue developing the “Ecoluisa Coffee: The Coffee for Housing” project. This social project seeks to achieve social interest housing for farming families in strata 1, 2, and 3 through specialty coffee.
Bio-factory installation for Ecoluisa Coffee
To guarantee sustainable, profitable, and eco-friendly coffee farming, Ecoluisa Coffee installs a bio-factory at the Veracruz farm. This strengthens the soil, improves nutrient absorption, generates biological controllers like fungi for borer control, establishes natural insect repellents, and boosts the plants’ immune systems.
Installation of the “Castillo 2.0” germinator
The Villa Luisa Housing Foundation and its specialty brand “Ecoluisa Coffee” begin the germination of the Castillo 2.0 coffee variety. Developed by Cenicafé, it offers benefits such as rust protection, resistance to Coffee Berry Disease (CBD), increased production, improved cup quality, and better adaptability to climate change.

To achieve this, we have launched Ecoluisa Coffee, “The Housing Coffee,” a productive project where we demonstrate that a home is not only built with cement, but also takes root and grows directly in the fields.
